CyclingAll around La Tronchaise there are small country roads that are quite safe for cyclists, and you can pedal all day through ancient wooded countryside, discover attractive, sleepy French villages and unexpected views over rolling countryside. The Green Way - Oradour sur Vayres to Chalus Created from an old railway line the route takes you through an unspoilt natural space where walkers, cyclists, roller-skaters and people of reduced mobility can travel in peace and security. The full length of the Green Way is 13 kilometres and it is managed by the French Association of Cycle routes and Green Ways. Slightly further away, mountain bikers are catered for by two specialised networks of signposted paths. Each path is fully equipped with a reception area and repair workshops.
A cross between a train and a
bicycle, the Velo-Rail is an original and exciting way to explore the
countryside of the Parc Natural Regional Perigord-Limousin. The six km
railway leads you along the Dronne Valley past bridges, old mills, and other
surprises. A local garage in Oradour sur Vayres runs a cycle hire service.
